Privacy

One form, one email, and nothing else. This page says exactly what that means, in plain terms rather than in the language of a policy nobody reads.

What the form collects

The enquiry form on the home page has five fields: your name, your email address, what you are building, where you are now, and which kind of engagement sounds closest. That is all of it. There is no other form on this site.

There is also a sixth field, labelled Website, which is positioned off screen and hidden from screen readers. People never see it and automated submitters often fill it in. If it arrives filled, the submission is discarded and no email is sent. It collects nothing about you.

Where it goes

The five fields become a single plain-text email to arun@entare.com.au, sent through Amazon Simple Email Service in the Sydney region. Your email address is set as the reply-to address so we can answer you.

It is not put into a customer relationship system, not added to a mailing list, not used for any follow-up sequence, and not disclosed to anyone else. There is no database on this site: nothing you submit is stored by the website itself.

What happens to it after that

It sits in our mailbox as ordinary correspondence, for as long as it takes to answer you and, if you become a client, for as long as we need a record of the work. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

One exception, stated because it is the kind of thing a privacy page usually leaves out: if the email fails to send, the submission is written to the server log instead, so that a failed enquiry can be recovered and answered by hand rather than silently lost. Successful submissions are never logged. Those failure logs live on our own server and are cleared as part of ordinary maintenance.

The form also counts recent submissions per IP address, in memory, to slow down automated abuse. That count holds an IP address for up to an hour and is discarded when the server restarts. It is not written to disk and is not linked to anything you submitted.

What this site still does not do

It sets no cookies and uses no local storage. It runs no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It loads nothing from a third-party origin: the fonts are self-hosted files served from this domain, and there are no tracking pixels, embedded widgets, chat bubbles, video players, maps, advertising scripts, or captcha services. The form is our own code posting to our own server.

A content security policy is served with every page which permits scripts, styles, fonts, images and connections from this domain only, so this is enforced by your browser rather than merely promised by us. The only links that leave this site are ordinary ones you have to click, and they are labelled with where they go.

What the hosting sees

The site runs on our own servers at Amazon Web Services in Sydney, behind a load balancer. As with any web host, the request logs record your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. That happens at the network level for security and reliability. We do not use it to build any profile of you, and it is not joined up with anything you send through the form.

Asking us about it

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email arun@entare.com.au and a person will read it and reply.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy question, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
